A native of Dayton, Chip has an undergraduate degree in political science from Miami University, including a year at the Miami University European Center, Grand Duche of Luxembourg, where he received the school’s citizenship award for service to the local community, and also performed in local cafes in a student band. Chip earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Dayton School of Law.
Prior to entering private practice, Chip served several years in the litigation section of the Columbus City Attorney's office, where he specialized in complex construction litigation and served as the City's chief counsel on zoning matters.
Chip is of counsel to the Firm. He has over 25 years of courtroom experience in federal, state and local courts of Franklin and surrounding Ohio counties. Chip handles most of our clients’ significant civil litigation and criminal defense matters. Having maintained his experience in the area of municipal law, he also continues to serve clients in matters involving local governmental entities, particularly in the areas of zoning, land development, and regulatory matters. Chip also has experience in representing juveniles in traffic and criminal cases, landlord/tenant matters, employment contracts and non-competition/trade secret litigation, property tax appeals, and construction-related disputes.
Chip is a member of the litigation sections of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, and the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
